Perle, the Prince of Darkness, is getting away with… well, with dodging accusations and not really coming clean. I don’t doubt that there’s something fishy here, but it’s not been proven– nor, I’m afraid, is it likely to be examined in any detail.

Election-committee control means election control. It doesn’t matter who casts the ballots: it matters who counts them. Well, I guess we’re fucked.

Nickel and Dimed shouldn’t be that controversial. It certainly presents only one point of view, but if a college doesn’t help students get around that, then it’s not much of a college. Besides, those privileged college kids have already seen the other side of the story.

I haven’t posted many pictures for awhile, because I keep forgetting to move them off the camera. Two I’ve just moved off the camera from earlier this summer: Megan at Fenway and doing a crossword.

Oh, sure, everybody and their fan club sells thongs that feature the logo or image. Heck, you can get free blank ones from American Apparel from now til June 24 if you want. But only Har Mar SuperStar has the sartorial sense to print his face on the thongs he sells at his shows.

Given the recent restatements about certain business transactions by competitors, I’m pretty bearish on DBYA.

My friend Mark helps out on a free mailing list, offering free help to people who run into trouble with software. Yesterday he got a message from one of the list members saying:

Remember, never read an internet messageboard.

The usual argument is this: A: Gays are bad. B: That’s a religious statement, and church and state are separate. A: The state is built on a basis of religious morality.

But sometimes you get things like this: “It isn’t religious doctrine that states that homosexuality is an ‘abomination’, God states it.”

Right. Because Christianity isn’t a religion nor does it have a doctrine.

Just remember, these are the people who rule a great Nation. They have regular conversations with invisible voices, and then order the deaths of thousands of people based on what those voices say.

So I have a half dozen author’s comp copies of Linux in a Nutshell, 4th ed. by Siever, Figgins, and Weber. What do I do with them? I’ve given one to everyone I know who wants one, and I guess my family will get one or two as well.

Maybe I’ll hawk them outside the Sox games: Get yah hawt salty Linux in a Nutshell! Hawt n salty, right heah!”
